Owls outscore the Gladiators 22-6 in the final quarter for comeback victory
Playing at home in Carroll County, the Westminster football team thrilled their home fans, Friday night, with a huge fourth quarter comeback that produced a 36-29 upset of No. 11 Glenelg of Howard County.
Glenelg closed a tight first half with a 32-yard field goals from Chris Retzbach to take a 17-14 lead into the intermission and grew that advantage to 23-14 after three quarters.
The Owls, however, took flight in the final quarter, outscoring the Gladiators 22-6 and took the lead on an Erick Stranko touchdown with less than a minute to play.
Both teams are now 2-2.
