Former Archbishop Spalding High softball pitcher Emily Weiman (pictured left) is more than making her mark at North Carolina State University. The sophomore recently captured her third consecutive Atlantic Coast Conference Pitcher of the Week award.

In four starts last week, the Pasadena native struck out 26 batters to go 4-0. She had a season-high 12 strike outs in the series opener against Boston College.

It’s the fifth ACC Pitcher of the Week honor this season for Weiman, who has a single-season record 28 victories for the Wolfpack (30-18-1l) this spring. She’s currently 28-16 with a 2.04 earned run average, and has 244 strikeouts in 274 innings.

Weiman was Varsity Sports Network’s Pitcher of the Year in her senior season at Spalding in 2011.
