Veteran high school sports writer will serve as an editorial contributor

Katherine Dunn
Varsity Sports Network is thrilled to introduce Katherine Dunn as a new staff contributor to our award winning high school sports coverage.
Dunn, a freelance writer in the Baltimore area, spent 28 years covering high school and college sports for The Baltimore Sun before retiring from the paper in December.
A Baltimore County native and Towson State University graduate, Dunn covered sports for several weekly papers, including the Essex Times and The Towson Times, early in her career. She also freelanced for The Sun before joining the high school sports staff in 1990.
Although she has written about many sports, Dunn has primarily covered high school sports and all levels of women’s lacrosse from high school to the World Cup. She began covering high school football in 2009 and received the Jerry E. Mears Service Award from the Maryland Football Coaches Association in 2018.
With VSN, Katherine will cover a variety of sports as well as write feature stories on athletes, coaches and teams. We are thrilled to have her as part of our team.
