Car accident claims former Howard football standout joins the Howard High and Morgan State University communities in mourning the passing of Saif Bryant.

Bryant, a freshman football player at Morgan State and 2015 Howard grad, was killed in a single car accident early Sunday morning.

Bryant was 21.

He was an all-Howard County football selection in the fall of 2014, helping Howard to the first of four consecutive league championships.

Bryant was lovingly remembered on the Lions’ twitter page: “The #howardfamily lost a brother this morning. Saif Bryant and his brothers were the young men that really propelled our program and community to the magnitude it is today. “Moose” will always be remembered and never forgotten. Rest In Peace.”

Bryant is the second former Howard County football standout to pass away this year. Larry Aaron, who starred in football and basketball at Oakland Mills, died in February after complications from treatment for his injuries.

Aaron, a redshirt freshman defensive linemen for Marshall University, was paralyzed after being hit by a stray bullet at a New Year’s Eve party in Anne Arundel County.
