Cody Duffy threw for three touchdowns and ran for another as Lansdowne High outlasted Pikesville, 43-41, in a Baltimore County 1A/2A league contest Friday evening.

The Vikings (3-5 overall, 2-3 1A/2A) exploded for 36 points unanswered to wipe out a 22-0 first half deficit. Pikesville (3-5, 1-4 1A/2A) wasn’t able to convert a two-point conversion in the fourth quarter, representing the final margin.

Trailing 22-6 at halftime, Greg McCoy scored on a three-yard run, and a safety got Lansdowne to within 22-14. Duffy threw a 47-yard scoring pass to Donyea Green and followed with a two-point conversion pass to Kenny Johns, tying the game at 22.

The Vikings gained the lead on a five-yard run by Duffy, and he followed with a connection to Green from 22 yards out, extending the lead to 36-22.  The Panthers rebounded with a 12-yard pass from Julian Barnes to George Curry, and Kion Wright went 73 yards, bringing them back to within 36-35 in the final quarter.

Duffy tossed a five-yard scoring pass and Mike Haas’ extra point, pushed the Vikings’ lead to 43-35. Julian Barnes threw a 15-yard scoring pass to Devin Park, but Pack’s game-tying two-point conversion fell short.

The Vikings have won two straight after dropping their five decisions. The loss was damaging to Pikesville’s playoff hopes in the Class 1A North Region.

Lansdowne plays Owings Mills next weekend, while Pikesville travels to New Town next Saturday.
