With the snow out West, there have been changes in a number of wrestling events held this weekend, and one of those hit was Tuscarora’s Titan Thunder Classic.
All wrestling was move to Saturday due to the snow when Frederick County Public Schools canceled all after school activities, and the tournament further condensed when foreign schools were unable to attend.
Henrico High School (Virginia) and South Carroll High School did not participate as planned because, in their respective counties, a team can not participate in an event if the first day is not contested.
The style of the tournament was changed to a 16-man, double-elimination bracket, instead of its original plan of separating the schools into two pools and having top three contestants in each pool wrestle the corresponding wrestler in the medal rounds.
Despite the changes and dropped teams, the tournament has had its excitement and is still up for grabs among top teams Reservoir, Clarksburg, Poolesville and Wooten.
