Nationally ranked Taylor Tutrone of Gilman won his third straight MIAA No. 1 squash title, as he defeated Michael Mutschellar of Boys’ Latin, 4-1, at Meadowmill Athletic Club.

Mutschellar, the grandson of former Baltimore Colt great Jim Mutschellar, had given Tutrone a stiff test during the regular season, as the Gilman ace had to battle for a 3-2 victory. In the individual final, Mutschellar again challenged, but Tutrone was able to gain early control.

Gilman now has five of the six individual titles contested so far. Last week, David Hoffman (No. 2), Pete Dewire (No. 5), Jakob Metz (No. 6), and Harrison Ebeling (No. 7) all won championships for the Greyhounds.

Matt Brown of McDonogh broke up the Gilman monopoly with an individual title at No. 4. The No. 3 match between Gilman’s Will Hanley and McDonogh’s Ian Webb is still to be played.
