The St. Vincent Pallotti girls basketball team led from the opening tip until the five minute mark of the fourth quarter, on the road against Elizabeth Seton of the WCAC, Friday night, but the Panthers were living on the edge.
Turnovers, which totaled 19 by game’s end and poor free throw shooting (8-of-17) were the downfall for Pallotti, as it fell 58-53 to even its early season record at 1-1.
Senior Chizzy Ekedigwe scored 11 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead Pallotti, while junior Tiffany Padgett scored 10 points and had nine rebounds.
Earlier last week, Padgett scored 11 points and senior Mariah Hankton had a game-high 16 points as the Panthers routed Coolidge (DC), 65-25, in their opener.
The Panthers have moved up to the IAAM A Conference for the 2010-11 season and will see their first league action in the new conference on Monday as they host Mercy in the league opener for both schools.
