In 2009, former Calvert Hall soccer playedr Marco Mangione score eight goals and contributed four assists as a junior with the Towson University Men’s Soccer Team, earning second-team honors in the Colonial Athletic Conference.
With that success behind him, Mangione was one three Tigers selected to the 2010 Preseason All-CAA team, which was announced this week.
Mangione was twice named CAA Player of the Week in 2009 ad he converted all three of his penalty kicks. His first weekly honor came after scoring three of his team’ss four goals in a pair of wins over George Mason and nationally ranked Old Dominion. He followed up later in the season by scoring the only goals in a pair of 1-0 victories.
