No. 16 Generals outlast Patterson Mill on Ellis’ walkoff in third extra period

Ben Ellis had the winning goal Monday as No. 16 Towson topped Patterson Mill in triple overtime.

Ben Ellis’ goal with 10 seconds remaining in the third overtime lifted 16th-ranked Towson High to a 5-4 victory over Patterson Mill in a non-league boys lacrosse contest Monday afternoon in Bel Air.

The “golden” goal by Ellis, a senior midfielder, was his fourth of the match. Sophomore goalkeeper Alex Hochrein had 12 saves for the Generals (8-2 overall).

Ethan Kroll was also outstanding in the net for Patterson Mill, stopping 14 shots. The Huskies (7-2 overall) forced overtime on a goal from sophomore Matt Bechtel as time expired in regulation. 

Jacob Glendon, Fletcher Steinkraus and Will Pape also scored for Patterson Mill.
