The Towson High badminton team defeated Parkville by an 8-3 score Monday afternoon. The Generals displayed the talent and depth necessary to contend once again for the county championship as seven of the eight wins were decided in two games.

The squad was led by Bryce Manubay, Billy Wu, and Joey Friedman in boys singles, Diana Reighert and Jayne Flynn on the girls side. Towson took those six matches by a 5 – 1 score.  Flynn defeated Parkville’s A. Kazmi in an exciting three game match winning 15 – 5, 10 – 15, 17 – 16.

The Knights’ G. Mudunari defeated Towson’s Xi Zhou 9-15, 15-13, 15-10. They also picked up a win in the number two girls’ doubles match as the duo of Lumbardo/Kazmi beat Gao/Rezwan 5-15, 15-1, 15-12. Their third win came in the number one boy’s doubles match as Suri/Guan won 15-9, 8-15, 15-5 over Thau/Townsend-Last.

The mixed doubles game also went Towson’s way as Spencer-Strong/Kedir defeated Wandes/Ogden 15-3, 15-8.
