Towson High’s badminton team notched its fourth win in four tries this season with an 8-3 decision over Loch Raven. The result sets up the showdown with Pikesville for the division lead and a possible run to the county championship.
The Generals had already won the minimum six of eleven games before the Raiders reeled off their three wins. In boys’ singles, Loch Raven’s Chenoweth defeated Towson’s Bapna, in girls’ singles, Loch Raven’s Knight beat Towson’s Zhou, and in boys’ doubles two, the combo of Hinton/Surrock defeated Gotwalt/Sebastian.
The most exciting game of the day featured the boys’ number one doubles teams as Towson’s Thau/Townsend-Last lost the first match, 15-9, but came back to win the next two by 15-13 margins.
Towson travels to Patapsco Thursday before hosting Pikesville Oct. 7.
