Hardnett scores 34 points and grabs 14 rebounds as No. 1 Perry Hall opens with a big win at Kenwood

LaQuill Hardnett was unstoppable with 34 points, 14 rebounds and 6 assists in Perry Hall’s season-opening win over Kenwood.

Having had its season opener postponed because of Saturday’s snow event, top-ranked Perry Hall tooked to the hardwood for the first time in 2017-18, Monday night at Kenwood, and the Gators unleashed their senior twin towers to claim a 73-58 victory over previously unbeaten Kenwood, in a Baltimore County Division II boys league game.

LaQuill Hardnett and Anthony Higgs, two of the top big men in the state, combined for 57 points, in dominating the Kenwood front court. Hardnett was particularly unstoppable, tossing down 34 points while adding 14 rebounds and six assists.

Higgs finished 23 points.

Darius Foster led three Bluebirds (2-1 overall) in double figures with 16 points. Chandler Cutherell scored 12 points and Donnell Loud had 10 points.
