McDonogh slides up to No. 5 as MIAA A crown to be decided this week; Severna Park is 9th

The postseason is in full swing as Calvert Hall College is No. 1 in VSN’s Boys Lacrosse Top 20 for the second straight week.
The Cardinals are in the MIAA A Conference semifinals, and on Tuesday, will play third-ranked St. Mary’s at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium. The other semifinal features defending champ and No. 2 Boys’ Latin School taking on fifth-ranked McDonogh School.
All four MIAA A semifinalists have been No. 1 this season. Despite missing the MIAA A postseason, St. Paul’s School, is No. 4 after taking Boys’ Latin to overtime before falling last week.
The second Top 5 features Archbishop Spalding, Loyola Blakefield, Severn School, Severna Park and Broadneck.
In addition to the MIAA A final four, semifinals in the B and C conference takes place Tuesday. The A and B championship matches will be Friday at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium.
The state public tournament continues Tuesday with region final play, followed by state quarterfinals Wednesday. The state semifinals take place Friday and Saturday.
