The Rising Sun Tigers wasted no time sulking over their tight loss to Harford Tech earlier in the week, and the UCBAC team screamed back with a win over in-conference North Harford, Friday, 62-15.
Winning all but three matches in the dual meet, the Tigers worked nine falls out of the 14 bouts, and added two major decisions by Robert Rakes and Nick Filliaux at 140 and 189, respectively, to produce the team-win.
Pinners for Rising Sun included Jody Eveland, Lance Eveland, james Hyman and Anthony Cimorosi, all decking their opponents in a five-match streak to open the match, and were joined by teammate Ty McGee, who pinned at 215.
Two bouts later, Joe Juergens worked a fall at 103 that started another string of Tigers pins, as Dyland Jackson, Nick Billings and Adam Heffelfinger pinned through 125.
North Harford had two wins on the night in Dustin Beall (285) and Logan Smith (130), while Jon Copenhaver was the team’s other winner at 171 with a decision.
Rising Sun will head into their dual-meet against Patterson Mill, Jan. 12, and North Harford will head to Northwestern in Prince George’s County, Jan. 8.
