In a rematch of last year’s MIAA B Conference basketball championship game, host St. Paul’s put on a dominant defensive display, Monday in Brooklandville, as it defeated Archbishop Curley, 44-23.
The Crusaders did not allow the Friars to score more than seven points in any given quarter and limited Curley to just two in the third period, as they turned a 21-14 halftime lead into 42-16 advantage. Curley only converted 8-of-34 field goal attempts.
Tanner Brooks and Cliff Cornish combined for 25 points to lead St. Paul’s offensively.
