Gators return after IAAM A championship repeat; Century, Glenelg set for state championship-esque match

St. Paul’s School is again No. 1 in the VSN Girls Lacrosse Top 20 poll, thanks to an impressive effort in the IAAM A Conference championship match over the weekend.
The Gators subdued area and nation No. 1 Glenelg Country School for a second straight league title. The Brooklandville school avenged a 20-7 pounding by Glenelg Country two weeks ago at home.
The Dragons slide back to No. 2, followed by McDonogh School, Glenelg and Bryn Mawr School. The rest of the Top 10 features Century, Archbishop Spalding, Severna Park, Broadneck and Maryvale Prep.
The state public playoffs take center stage as undefeated Glenelg and Century meet Monday afternoon in Carroll County for the 2A West Region I title.
In another Top 20 match, No. 15 Marriotts Ridge hosts 17th-ranked Westminster for the 3A East Region I crown. The state quarterfinals take place Friday and Saturday.
