No. 15 Saints employ strong rushing attack in a MIAA B win over Curley

Quarterback Steven Schummer passed for 165 yards and a score and rushed for another touchdown as he helped No. 15 St. Mary’s to defeat Archbishop Curley, 28-9, in MIAA B Conference action Friday night in Annapolis.

Wyatt Cotton was the Saints leading rusher with 101 yards and a touchdown on 23 carries, while Patrick Cary added 47 yards on four attempts.

Casey Smith was on the receiving end of Schummer’s TD throw and finished with 84-yards receiving, while Israel Crockett had four catches for 59 yards.

Defensively, Shane Toal had a fumble recovery and, in the fourth quarter, Liam Andrews sealed the win with a pick six.

St. Mary’s (3-1 overall) improved to 3-0 in the MIAA B Conference, while Curley (1-3 overall) fell to 1-2 in the conference.
