St. Mary’s boy’s basketball got its 2010-11 season off to a strong start, on Monday in Annapolis, defeating visiting Beth Tfiloh, 76-39, in a MIAA non-conference game.
Last year, Beth Tfiloh surprised the Saints, but on Monday Chakhan Smith led a dominating performance for the Saints with 15 points, including a pair of three-pointers.
Mike Wilde also reached double figures with 12 points, while Evan Pietris had nine rebounds and four points. In addition, point guard Tevin Johnson scored nine points and added three steals and four rebounds for the Saints.
It was the season opener for both teams.
