St. Mary’s girls basketball team opened its IAAM B Conference schedule on Monday with a 78-61 victory over Maryvale.
Senior captain Melanie Mocniak, a forward, recorded a double-double with 25 points and grabbed 18 rebounds for the Saints. Sophomore Jennifer Broussard scored 24 points and had eight boards, while Stephanie Lazo contributed 12 points and six assists.
Senior guard Besi Sheshi scored a game-high 27 points and sophomore forward Lauren Eckholm added 11 for the Lions.
