St. Mary’s field hockey team improved its record to 5-7 overall this season after a 2-1 victory over Archbishop Spalding on Monday.

The Saints are 4-6 in the IAAM A Conference and just a single point behind the Cavaliers for fourth place in the league.  Spalding is 9-5-1 overall and 4-4-1 in the league.

Kristen Lamon and Steph Lazo scored goals for St. Mary’s.  The scores were assisted Mary Vaughters and Lauren Molina. Goalie Galligan had eight saves.

Sophomore Kelsey Bonner scored Spalding’s lone goal after receiving a pass from Emily Garden.   Keeper Melissa Rize made 12 stops.
