A difficult season for the St. Mary’s football team ended on an up note, Saturday, as the Saints defeated arch-rival Severn, 37-21, to close the year with two consecutive wins.

The Saints (3-7, 3-5) were led by Nate Lewnes, who rushed for 230 yards and two touchdowns in the victory.

Quarterback Spencer Coyle added 72 yards rushing and he also tossed a 34-yard touchdown to Jordon Downs.  Braedon Graham added 83 yards in the running game and John Gonos rushed for a score.

Severn finished its season at 1-9 overall and 1-7 in the MIAA B Conference.
