Gators take down Maryvale, 25-11, 25-19, 25-13


St. Paul’s School for Girls moved to 2-0 on the young 2019 volleyball season, Wednesday, dispatching visiting Maryvale Prep, 3-0, in IAAM A Conference action.

The Gators prevailed with relative ease, winning the sets by scores of 25-11, 25-19 and 25-13.

SPSG, which also swept John Carroll in its season and league opener last week, defeated the visiting Lions with strong serving and an overpowering offense. Setter Abby Snyder set a consistent offense finishing with 25 assists, 10 digs and 4 kills, while outside hitters Jalen Dickerson and Shelby Lucas fueled the Gators’ offense with 11 kills (0.600 hitting %) and 10 kills (0.375 hitting %), respectively.

In addition, Cat Caples had 6 kills, 3 blocks, 1 dig and 1 ace.

Maryvale drops to 0-1 (0-1 IAAM A Conference) with the loss.
