Archbishop Spalding, current ranked No. 1 in Baltimore in girls basketball by VarsitySportsNetwork.com and No. 25 nationally by USA Today, continued to make a big impression on the national stage Tuesday.
Playing in the Nike Tournament of Champions in Phoeniz, Az., the Cavs collected their second blowout win in as many days, downing Woodinville (WA), 47-27.
Outstanding defense, a trademark all year, keyed the Cavs effort as the held Woodinville to just five first quarter points and 14 for the half. In fact, Woodinville never scored more than nine points in any of the four quarters.
Camille Calhoun paced the Cavaliers with 12 points, while Raven Makins added 10. Brya Freeland and Shaquilla Curtis added eight points each.
