Archbishop Spalding was just five and a half points away from their third consecutive tournament win this weekend, falling just short of Dallastown, Pa., 189-183.5, t the Battle of the Beach.
Moving eight wrestlers into the semis and leading the tournament in team scoring, the Cavs saw four wresters advance to the championship finals, crowning Will Switzer and Charlie Lynch as champs at 145 and 152, respectively.
Other finalists included Michael Still (103) and D. J. Smith (171), both placing second in their respective weightclasses, while 125-pound Logan Breitenbach wrestled back for a third-place finish and Matt Pente claimed a fourth-place finish at 112.
Malik Johnson (285), Cole Graves (130) and Zach Abey (189) all placed in the tournament.
