The Archbishop Spalding girls cross country team won the Girls Division I race at the 37th Annual Georgetown Prep Invitational, Saturday, by an impressive 50 points over Richard Montgomery, 63-113 and third place Sherwood (120).
The Cavaliers put five girls within the top 19 runners of the 241 girl field, led by freshman Erin Behrens’ third place finish in 20:59.6. Next for Spalding was Molly Miller (8th-21:17), Cara McNellis (16th-21:46), Emily Chaundy (17th-21:54) and Elisa Heacock (19th-21:58). Displacing other runners were Caitlyn McGuinness (33rd) and Kat Zotti (44th).
Behrens’ time was the second fastest of the day among all freshmen runners competing in the 76 team event.
