Evans’ 18 points lead No. 20 Cavaliers to first IAAM A win of season

In an IAAM A Conference Top 20 girls basketball battle, No. 20 Archbishop Spalding defended its home court, Thursday night, knocking off No. 9 St. John’s Catholic Prep, 67-59.

Ryann Evans led the way for the Cavaliers (8-5 overall, 1-3 IAAM A) with 18 points and seven assists and Morgan Pennick contributed 15 points and three assists. In addition, Spalding got a double-double from Koi Sims, who had 11 points and 11 rebounds, and 12 points and six boards from Brelynn Young.

For St. John’s Catholic Prep (8-5, 0-3 IAAM A), Kayla Cooper had a big night with a game-high 22 points and five rebounds, while Anna LeMaster netted 13 points and Jalyn McNeill had five assists and five steals.
