Cavaliers score three times in an 11-minute second half span to close out opening win

Third-ranked Archbishop Spalding broke open a close game with three scores in an 11-minute span in the second half of Friday’s season-opening 4-0 win over North Point.

Fifi Iluyomade broke the ice in the 14th minute, with an assist from Zandy Gardner, but the Cavaliers did not score again until the 57th minute when Lauren Korsnick fed Zoe Lape for a 2-0 lead. Oliva Burkowski assisted on each of the final two goals, in the 67th and 68th minutes, as Faith Sadeghia and Jenna Snead each scored to put the contest out of reach.

Spalding ripped off 21 shots, including 12 on goal, while North Point was limited to single shot in the contest.
