Archbishop Spalding’s girls’ basketball team didn’t have much time to savor Sunday’s victory at No. 2 Seton Keough, back on the road for another top 10 battle at Roland Park Country School.

After a close first half, Spalding imposed its will over the final two quarters, posting a 51-29 decision in an IAAM A Conference contest. Binghamton University-bound post Sherae Swinson scored a game-high 15 points for Spalding (19-2 overall, 9-0 IAAM A) and sophomore Camille Calhoun added 11.

Coming off Sunday’s 49-36 decision over Seton Keough, Spalding held a 23-22 halftime decision over the upset-minded Reds. The Cavaliers gained command in the third quarter, outscoring Roland Park, 13-2, to take a 36-24 lead into the fourth.

Freshman Beth Kelly scored 11 points to lead Roland Park (11-7, 5-5 IAAM A), which plays at Mercy Wednesday. Spalding hosts No. 5 McDonogh School Wednesday in Severn.
