No. 3 Cavaliers defeat No. 5 Broadneck

Archbishop Spalding’s 3-1 victory over Broadneck on Thursday night was the 300th in the coaching career of Spalding coach Leslie Brady.

Not only was No. 3 Archbishop Spalding field hockey up against an extremely formidable opponent, it had the added pressure of trying to deliver a historic milestone for their longtime coach Leslie Brady.

The Cavs (5-0) came through on both fronts, downing No. 5 Broadneck 3-1 and helping Brady celebrate career win #300.

Broadneck (4-2) helped stir the intensity by taking an early 1-0 lead on a goal by Lexi Dupack.

Junior Ally Keith pulled the Cavaliers even and senior Bridget Donovan turned the game in Spalding’s favor, for good, when she scored her team’s second goal, off of a penal corner. Keith then scored her second of the game to ice the victory for her team and her coach.
