Despite the bitter cold outside the Southwestern girls basketball team warmed their own gym with pair of hot performances to as the Sabers defeated Baltimore City Division II rival Mervo 49-32.

Taylor Holmes led the way on the score sheet with 14 points and she had seven assists.  Power forward Imani Jackson was just as productive scoring eight points and grabbing 14 rebounds.

Southwestern improved to 6-1 overall and 2-1 in the league with the victory.
