Outlook: If the first games of the season for both South River and North County were any indication of things to come, the contest between the two Anne Arundel County rivals will be a high scoring affair.
The Seahawks opened their season with a 42-0 rout of visiting Glen Burnie last Friday. Six-foot-two inch senior running back Blaine Kleinrichert rushed for 169 yards on 23 carries and scored a touchdown for South River. Senior quarterback Shane Lee threw for 129 yards and three touchdowns. He also ran it in from two-yards out for four total scores.
The Knights were just as explosive on offense last week in a 53-19 beat down of Northeast. Senior quarterback Pat Downey went 14-for-20 with three touchdowns for North County. Wide receiver/defensive back Cordell Blair caught two touchdowns and on defense returned a pick 95-yards to the house.
Last season, South River shutout North County 14-0 at home. Will it be the same result at North County this season?
