Cavalier squads each prevail over Francis Scott Key

With the first week of the basketball season, only one Carroll County school can boast a pair of 2-0 squads, as the South Carroll boys and girls each reached that position with wins over Francis Scott Key.

On the road in Uniontown, the SC boys claimed a 20-point win with a 62-42 victory over the Eagles, who were playing their season opener. Junior Karson Pavlik poured in 20 first half points and finished with a game-high 31 to lead the way.

FSK was led by Ryan Hill, who finished with 14 points and six boards.

The South Carroll girls, playing on their home court, also collected their second win of the week, downing Francis Scott Key, 53-37.
