Aaron Slaughter, a fifth-year senior from Loyola Blakefield, is making history along with classmate Matt Cahill, as the two will serve as tri-captains on the 2010 McDaniel College football team this fall, making them the first three-year captains in the 116 year history of the Green Terror football program.

Slaughter, a defensive back, is eager to get underway in 2010 after missing all of last season with a neck injury. He also missed much of his freshman year with a severe high-ankle sprain suffered during the third game of the season.

The ankle injury lingered well into the spring and he could not run for much of that time. Slaughter, however, worked tireless on his rehab and was ready for camp where he made the move from corner back to safety. That effort earned him his first tour of duty as captain and he had been a stalwart on the Green Terror defensive unit prior last year’s injury.

He enters the fall with 148 career tackles, an interception, 11 passes defended and four fumble recoveries.

Slaughter, who is 6-feet-2 and 210 pounds, is an Economics major. At Loyola he was a Baltimore Touchdown Club All-Star as well as a standout basketball player.
