It had been a nice run through the 4A boys soccer playoffs for Severna Park, but the Falcons saw their season come to a sudden end in the state semifinals, on Saturday, as they suffered a 3-0 loss to Magruder at Richard Montgomery High School in Montgomery County.
Junior Jamie Merriam had a goal and an assist to lead Colonels, who also received scores from Christian Bermudez and Matt Greene.
Magruder dominated possession throughout, preventing the Falcons from getting a single shot on goal. Magruder will now take a 14 game unbeaten streak into the 4A state title game, Thursday at UMBC (5:00 p.m.). The Colonels will face Urbana which advanced with a win over High Point.
