Cole Bailey had two goals and two assists and P.T. Lamon and Brett Bedard each scored twice as Severn School upset No. 7 Loyola Blakefield, 7-5, in a MIAA A Conference contest in Anne Arundel Friday afternoon.
The Admirals (5-4 overall, 1-2 MIAA A) outscored Dons, 3-0, in the second half to build a 4-2 halftime lead. Kyle Moran had a goal and an assist, and Nate Babock contributed an assist as Severn kept the Dons (0-5 overall, 0-2 MIAA A) winless.
“This is a great win for our team. Everybody chipped in anddid their job,” said Severn coach Brian Wood. “Their hard work has finally paid off.”
Wood credited the defensive play of Blake Wood and Bobby Destaefano, and Adam Blaszczak in goal. Blaszcak made nine saves.
T.J. Neubauer had two goals and two assists for Loyola, which has Gilman School (Tuesday) and No. 4 McDonogh School (Friday) next week in league action. Severn has No. 2 Boys’ Latin Tuesday afternoon on Lake Avenue before unbeaten and No. 3 Calvert Hall College visits the Admirals Friday.
