Severn’s boys soccer team entered Monday’s MIAA B Conference match with Park trailing the Bruins by one point in the race for third place and the final playoff slot in the Black Division.  A win would have advanced Park to the post-season and a tie would have moved the Bruins closer.  In the end, however, the host Admirals leapfrogged their guests with a 1-0 victory and now they hold the inside track to playoffs with one game to go for each team.

Nick Stringfellow broke a scoreless tie, in the second half, when he converted a cross from Joe Kotler and the Admiral defense made it stand up.

Severn will host St. Vincent Pallotti on Tuesday in an attempt to clinch its place in the playoffs.  If the Admirals falter, Park will have a final chance to reach the post-season when it closes its regular season, on Thursday, at home against St. Paul’s.
