Seton Keough hosted Maryvale Prep for an IAAM B Conference field hockey match, on Thursday, and emerged from a scoreless first half to capture a 2-1 victory over the visiting Lions.

In the second half, the Gators broke the ice by converting a score from a corner play.  Megan Woods got the goal off an assist from Lauren Siekierski.

The Gators continued to control the game and were eventually awarded another corner.  Ashley Triplett inserted the ball and Lauren Seirkierski took the shot, firing it into the back of the cage to put the Gators ahead 2-0.

Maryvale, which was coming off a 1-0 upset of No. 12 Dulaney on Friday, was able to get back within one, but never found the equalizer.

Emani Byrd had a great game on defense for Keough, executing some key clears.  Goalie Jamie Hutcheson also had two key saves.

The win ended a five year losing streak for Seton Keough against Maryvale.
