Oakland Mills and Mt. Hebron battled on the mats, Tuesday, and it was the Scorpions who ended up stinging the Vikings with a 44-22 loss.
Winning nearly 10 bouts on the night, the Scorpions posted three falls, a tech fall and two forfeits in their bonus-point wins, and added three decisions to work the victory.
The Scorpions shot out to a 17-0 lead over the Vikings with a forfeit to 103-pounder Kacey Maples, a 3:51 pin by Zac Hensley (112) and a Tony Farace tech fall at 119, before combining with a Richie Randall decision at 130 for the 20-6 lead.
Three matches later, Oakland Mills worked back-to-back falls between 145-pound Eric Hienly and 15-pound David Ulysse, before decisions by Alex DoQuang (160) and Joey Yarn (171).
Yarns win came in overtime, beating his opponent, 8-5.
Mt. Hebron’s 22 points were won with falls from A.J. Wade (285) and Drew Vickers (125), with a major decision from Iwaskiw at 189 and decisions at 135 and 140 by Kendrick and Staedli, respectively.
