Oakland Mills wins at Centennial
One night after having a four-game winning streak snapped by a tough one-point loss at home against Mount Hebron, the Oakland Mills boys’ basketball team got back in gear on Friday, going on the road to defeat Centennial, 60-45.
The Scorpions dominated the first half, building a 29-16 lead, but Centennial came roaring out of the break, outscoring Oakland Mills 17-4 in the third game to even the game heading into the fourth. Oakland Mill regained its offensive touch in the final frame, exploding for 27 points to win going away.
Three Scorpions reached double figures, with Daeshawn Eaton leading the way with 17 points. Mister Hairston and Ke’von Simpson scored 14 and 13 points, respectively.
Hayden Ford scored 16 points to lead Centennial.
Oakland Mills (5-4 overall) is now 5-3 in Howard County and tied for third place with Atholton. Centennial slipped to 5-7 overall and 3-5 in the league.
