St. Mary’s High was likely forgotten after losing its first three games. The Saints have rebounded to earn a place in this week’s VSN Football Top 20.

The Annapolis private school defeated then-No. 19 St. Paul’s School, 28-7, to gain sole possession of first in the MIAA B Conference. The defending league champ Saints (4-3 overall), ranked 20th this week, have won four straight.

Dundalk is back in the Top 20. The Owls’ only loss is to No. 12 Franklin, which took sixth-ranked Milford Mill Academy to overtime before falling last weekend.

There’s a shakeup in the Top 5 after Calvert Hall College’s victory over then-No. 2 Archbishop Spalding. Nationally-ranked St. Frances Academy is again No. 1 with Broadneck moving to No. 2, followed by Mount St. Joseph, Calvert Hall and Spalding.

Liberty (16th to No. 11) is the biggest mover after defeating then-No. 11 Westminster for first in Carroll County. The Lions (7-0) are one of eight undefeated teams in the area.
