For a second consecutive year, Roland Park Country has kicked off its IAAM A Conference basketball schedule with a victory over St. Frances, as the Reds downed the Panthers, 42-29, Wednesday night on Roland Avenue.
The host Reds out-scored the No. 7 Panthers to 27-15 in the second half to break open a one-point game. Just five players scored for Roland Park, but the Reds had a balanced distribution of the points with Daisy Alaeze and Lauren Edwards scoring 10 points each, Kiera Davis and Elizabeth Kelly each netted eight points and Christina Reese tossed in six markers.
Infiniti Allston of St. Frances led all scorers with 13 points and Tyshell King added 11 to handle to bulk of the Panther scoring. The other five points came from Cyndi Cole.
With the victory, RPCS improved to 3-0 overall and 1-0 in the conference. St. Frances fell to 1-1 overall.
