Stevenson University junior women’s soccer player Brittany Ross was named the Capital Athletic Conference’s Defensive Player of the Week, last week, for her role in two shutout victories by the Mustangs.

This is the second time the former Severna Park goalkeeper has received this honor from the CAC in 2010 and the fourth time during her college career.

Ross did not allow a goal in 117 minutes last week and totaled five saves, as the Mustanges defeated Hood College and Wesley College.  The two victories improved Ross’ career record to 22-6-3 and she leads the CAC in goals against average and saves percentage this year.

At Severna Park, Ross posted a .911 career save percentage and she led the Falcons to three Anne Arundel County championships.  As a senior, she served as team captain, was named team MVP and became an All-County selection.
