After overcoming its first adversity in several weeks in its previous game, No. 2 Arundel again delivered an early knockout punch, routing Northeast, 53-29, in an Anne Arundel County league contest in Pasadena.

Senior quarterback Nick Rosati passed for 292 yards and five first half touchdowns with Tyler Washington catching three. Joseph Blackwell rushed for 161 yards and two touchdowns.

In extending its league regular season winning streak to xx games, Arundel (8-0 overall and league) itched closer to the No. 1 seed in the Class 4A East Region playoffs next week. The Wildcats found themselves trailing for the first time last week against South River, before pulling away for a 38-29 decision.

Arundel didn’t have such issues Friday, leading 32-7 at halftime as Rosati and Washington hooked up for scores of 24, 11 and 23 yards. Rosati threw a 17-yard strike to Gary Cropper and John White caught a 13-yard score.

The Wildcats led 46-13 after three quarters as Blackwell added scoring runs of 76 and three yards. Cory Covington had a 46-yard touchdown pass from Jack Gordon.

Northeast quarterback Eric Grantland had four touchdown passes including scores to Devin McKinney, Nick Marshall and Blake Russell. The Eagles host No. 4 Broadneck in league action next weekend while Arundel hosts Meade.
