Looking to overcome IAAM A Conference losses to St. Vincent Pallotti and Seton Keough last week, the Roland Park Country School basketball team spent Friday and Saturday in Richmond, Va. and the Reds returned home with a pair of wins.
On Friday, the Reds thumped Walsingham Academy (VS), 42-18. RPCS ended any suspense in the first half as they rolled out to a 29-6 lead. Nine different Reds scored with Daisey Alzeze leading the way with 14.
Saturday’s match-up with St. Catherine’s (VA) was much closer, but again the Reds prevailed, 53-48.
Alaeze was again the leading scorer, this time going for 23 points. Lauren Edwards added 12 and Elizabeth Kelly scored 10. With the victories, head coach Scott Buckley’s squad improved to 6-3 on the season.
