Katie Marlatt and Tope Olujobi each scored goal as No. 10 River Hill defeated No. 9 Reservoir, 2-1, in a key Howard County girls’ soccer league match Friday afternoon in Fulton.

The Hawks (11-1 overall, 8-1 Howard) struck first as Marlatt, a junior midfielder, found the net in the opening half. Reservoir (8-3-1, 6-2-1 Howard) pulled even on Amanda Jackson’s goal in the 71st minute, but about two minutes later, Olujubi scored off an assist from Taylor Nowaskey.

River Hill hosts Hammond Tuesday before welcoming No. 8 Marriotts Ridge to Clarksville Thursday, with the county championship likely on the line. Reservoir, last season’s Howard County champs, hosts Wilde Lake Tuesday.
