Maiorana collects four hits for the Hawks; Thompson gets the win in relief
In a high scoring Howard County affair, Tuesday, River Hill scored a pair of runs in the top of the seventh and held off host Marriotts Ridge for an 11-10 softball victory.
After allowing four runs in the bottom the sixth to lose a three run lead, River Hill turned a 2-3-5 double play in the infield and Katarina Thompson, who earned the win in relief, struck out the final batter of the game to secure the victory.
Kathleen Maiorana led the River Hill lineup by going 4-for-5 with a double and two RBI. Thompson also had a big day at the plate with three hits in four trips for three RBI.
