No. 1 Roland Park drops St. John’s Catholic on Senior Night; McLean and Henson each score 17

Mir McLean and Morgan State University-bound guard Ja’Niah Henson each finished with 17 points, and Maria Ferariu added 16 as top-ranked Roland Park Country School defeated St. John’s Catholic Prep, 64-48, in an IAAM A Conference basketball match in Baltimore City.

On Senior Night where Henson, Drexel-bound Ferariu, Robinson and Kiki Shaw were honored before the match, Roland Park (23-1 overall, 13-0 IAAM A) built a 14-point halftime lead en route to its 13th straight victory. The Reds, ranked 20th in the latest USA Today Super 25, will be the No. 1 seed for the next week’s IAAM A tournament.

Kayla Cooper led St. John’s Catholic (10-12, 2-10 IAAM A) with 17 points. The Vikings, in their first season in the IAAM A, plays at John Carroll School (2-10 IAAM A) Friday.

Roland Park plays at Institute of Notre Dame Friday in the regular season finale.
