Led by a hat-trick by Caroline Seats, the Roland Park Country field hockey team played perhaps its best game of the season, on Tuesday, as the Reds routed visiting Archbishop Spalding, 4-0.
RPCS got on the board with a goal from Natalie Faust, before Seats scored for the first time and the Reds led 2-0 at the half. Seats scored twice more in the second half, to complete the final score.
Spalding kept the Roland Park defense busy, as the Cavaliers took 15 penalty corners, but each time RPCS responded. Reserve goalkeeper Lauren Knight made eight first half saves for the Reds (3-6, 2-5), including stopping a penalty stroke. Two other Roland Park defenders, Cameron Steadley and Katie Johnson contributed stick saves.
The setback dropped Spalding to 8-4-1 overall and 3-3-1 in the IAAM A Conference.
