John Carroll bounced back from a tough opening week loss, Friday, with a big showing on both sides of the ball, as the Patriots routed visiting Parkville, 41-0, in non-conference football action.

Junior quarterback Kurt Rawlings ignited the JC offense, passing for four scores and rushing for a fifth touchdown.

Rawlings connected with Jerome Brown for two of those touchdowns, including a 30-yard strike to start the scoring in the opening quarter.  Leading 7-0, the Patriots (1-1) got a 5-yard touchdown run from Malik Tyne, early in the second quarter, followed by a 1-yard TD plunge from Rawlings and an 11-yard scoring pass from Rawlings to Alex Rasmussen to build a 27-0 lead at the half.

In the second half, Brown and Rasmussen each added one more touchdown reception.

The Patriots’ defense still has not allowed a touchdown this season, surrendering only a field goal in their opening week 3-0 setback at St. Vincent Pallotti.

It was the season-opener for Parkville.
